Young Women of Excellence
We look forward to hosting another group of fabulous young women in 2017! If you are interested in attending the program or acting as a mentor or a mentee, please contact Anne Baxter.
In collaboration with the Elgin Middlesex Oxford Workforce Planning and Development Board, we are once again offering an exciting mentorship opportunity. Through the Young Women of Excellence Mentorship, 80 young women from grades 9 to 12 will be chosen to attend the Women of Excellence Gala at no cost.
For more than 25 years, the YMCA of Western Ontario has been honouring exceptional women in London and the surrounding area. The 2017 YMCA Women of Excellence Gala will take place on May 17 at the London Convention Centre and more than 1,200 guests are expected to gather for a night of celebration. Proceeds from the Gala will go to YMCA Strong Kids Campaign, a program that provides financial assistance for children and families to attend YMCA camps and programs.

A Committee will select 80 successful young women and notify them and their school.
The young women selected must provide their own transportation to the London Convention Centre. The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and business attire is required. There will be a “Meet and Greet” for the young women prior to the Gala, and host mentors from Western University and Fanshawe College at each table during their evening.
Our goal is that the young women will be inspired by the stories and successes of the exceptional women being recognized and will pay it forward!
