Supersize your Exercise
with the YMCA and London Lightning!

DID YOU KNOW? 

  • Only 7% of children and youth in Canada meet the guidelines for Healthy Active Kids? You're suppose to be exercising at least 1 hour a day to be in good health!
  • Children and youth get an average of 7 hours and 48 minutes of screentime per day. That's your cell phones, TV, video games, internet, etc. (that's the same amount of time as a full-time job!). 

SUPERSIZE your strength, your fitness, your health and your smarts.

SUPERSIZE your STRENGTH

  • Be SUPER strong today! Focus on strengthening exercises for muscles, lungs, heart and brain.
  • Chin-ups, push-ups, and squats are great exercises to keep you strong.
  • Make sure to do strengthening exercises 2 or 3 times a week to stay strong! Use your time at recess or after school with friends.

SUPERSIZE your FITNESS 

  • Be SUPER fit and feel good! Focus on fitness activities that work muscles, lungs, heart and brain.
  • Exercising is fun when you choose a sport you love! Sign up with some of your friends or visit the Y for lots of child and youth programs!
  • Make sure to get at least 1 hour of excercise every day. This keep you healthy and feeling good!

SUPERSIZE your HEALTH

  • Be SUPER healthy and have fun! Focus on healthy foods for muscles, lungs, heart and brain.
  • Eat healthy foods like whole grain bread, fruit, yogurt, veggies, beans and eggs. 
  • Make sure to take a healthy lunch to school and skip all the sweets. Encourage your family to do the same!

SUPERSIZE your SMARTS 

  • Be SUPER smart with your own health! Focus on smart decision for your muscles, lungs, heart and brain.
  • Be smart by staying healthy with excercise and school activities. Get involved!
  • Make sure to participate in sports, eat healthy foods and stay active in school.
