Location(s):  Various Locations available in London, Middlesex, Oxford, Elgin

Start Date:  ASAP 
End Date:  June 28, 2019

Wage: School Age Supervisors $18.00 per hour
           School Age Educators $17.00 per hour
           School Age Supply Educators $17.00 per hour
          *This includes $2.00 per hour provided through a provincial wage enhancement grant

Hours:  Monday to Friday:  7:15am – 9:15am and/or 3:00pm – 6:00pm
 Note: There may be potential for in between shifts/hours in our Child Care locations

Our school age programs provide a positive, safe, and nurturing environment where children can develop to their full potential. Responsibilities: 
• Develop and facilitate a before and after school program for students 4 – 12 years of age in their school.
• Ensure the safety of students enrolled in the program through direct supervision, attendance protocols, and age appropriate programming
• Implementation of the YMCA curriculum to meet the needs, interests and talents of all children
• Working professionally with caregivers, school personnel, outside agencies, and other team members
• Solving parent concerns in a customer focused manner
• Proactively developing relationships with children, peers, volunteers and parents
• Adhering to child safety/security policies and practices
• Supporting and following Child Care & Early Years Act (2014) requirements
• Before & After School Program hours of operation: 7:15-9:15 am and/or 3:00-6:00 pm

Qualifications & Experience:
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C from WHMIS approved agency
• Current successful Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Experience working with children is preferred
• Early Childhood Education Diploma or equivalent, Child and Youth Worker Diploma, Recreation Leadership Diploma or equivalent is preferred

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor Part-Time

Position: Lifeguard/Swim Instructor - Part Time
London, St. Thomas & Woodstock

Pay Rate: $14/hr

Placement Date: ASAP

Nature and Scope:

The Aquatic Team is responsible for the provision of a safe, friendly aquatic environment that meets the Serving All Members (SAM) standard.

Responsibilities:

• To instruct and ensure the continuity of swim lessons, progress reports, attendance and safety during lesson
times
• Following additional training to instruct a variety of aquatic programming including swim lessons.
• Working professionally with Members, Volunteers and the Aquatic Team
• Solving participant/member concerns in a customer focused manner
• Proactively developing relationships with members, staff and volunteers
• Adhering to all Aquatic policies and procedures as outlined in manual
• Commitment to serving all members
• Demonstrating a commitment to YMCA Mission, Vision and Values
• Assuming other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Hold Current Certifications in National Lifeguard and Standard First Aid and CPR-C
• Willingness to complete a swim instructor course
• Satisfactory Criminal Background and Vulnerable Sector Search

Other Relevant Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Reliable team player
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Hours of work: Varied based on your availability
