Position:  Part Time-YMAP Windsor Program Facilitator
Location: YMCA Windsor Learning Centre/ Downtown 
Start Date:  September 3,2019- March 31st, 2020 (conditional on funding)
Hours: 25 hours per week. Monday to Friday. Hours could Vary.
Benefits:

Responsibilities:  
Facilitate YMAP activities, workshops and Field trips
Facilitate and plan sport sessions
Ensure property and equipment adheres to safety and clean standards
Determines eligibility for program and transportation supports
Maintain confidentiality in all matters 
Respond to first aid and emergency situations
Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and dedication in preparing and executing programs
Participate in regular planning meetings with the Regional Manager of Newcomer Youth and Newcomer Youth Settlement Advisor to determine program themes, complete lesson plans for daily activities, reports and workshops
Create an educational, enjoyable and supervised environment for youth by planning and implementing settlement focused and age appropriate programming
Be responsive to diverse cultural heritage, values and individual experiences
Foster self-esteem, problem solving and conflict resolution skills in youth
Attend all YMCA professional development activities/events as applicable
Demonstrate sensitivity to other cultures and ability to outreach to newcomer communities
Refers newcomers to appropriate internal and external programs and resources
       Assist with the Creation, plan and Facilitation of the Leadership curriculum
Other duties as required
 
Qualifications & Experience:
University degree in Social Work, Sociology, Political Science, Sport and Recreation and/or any related area
Experience working with youth an asset
Facilitation experience 
Familiar with youth services in London
Comfortable using public transportation
CPR and First Aid
Speaking another language is an asset
Experience working with diverse populations
Comfortable and effective communicating in group situations
Current Criminal Record Check and vulnerable sector
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Location: University YMCA Child Care Location
Start Date: TBD – Approximately September 4, 2019
Compensation:  Starting $14.00 per hour

Responsibilities:  
- To ensure compliance with Child Care and Early Years Act, Health Department regulations and YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures.
- To participate in consultation, problem solving and sharing of resources with Director, centre team and other department dietary planners.
- Proactively developing relationships with children, peers, students/volunteers and parents.
- Primarily preparing nutritious snacks and meals for Windy Woods, 57, space facility, as well as near by YMCA school age program snack support; meeting the individual needs of each child’s diet due to health or religious restrictions.
- Responsible for ordering and purchasing food for programs while maintaining budget requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C from WHMIS approved agency
- Food Preparation experience preferred with a Valid Food Handler’s Certification is required 
- Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Position Screen is required

- The wellness coach and personal trainer will be an integral part of the Windsor YMCA team and is responsible for the delivery of individual conditioning programs and potentially group fitness programs that exceeds the levels of service excellence as determined by YMCA: Priority S.A.M. (Serving All Members) standards.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for delivery of fitness programs and services
- Provide direct delivery of individual conditioning programs 
- Supports and assists in the delivery of branch initiatives including the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign 
- Assisting Health and Wellness Manager in vision planning for all adult programs by evaluating current programs, exploring new trends and determining annual initiatives/direction resulting in member retention and new members 
- Ensure YMCA program standards, policies and procedures are maintained
- Ensure a safe environment 

Qualifications & Experience:

- Completion of degree/diploma in Recreation & Leisure, Kinesiology, Health and Fitness promotion or equivalent
- 1-2 years of Health & Wellness experience. 
- Standard First Aid/CPR/AED
- Relevant fitness certification 
- Group Fitness Certification and or equivalent is an asset 
- YMCA Fitness Trainer (an asset)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Provide a current Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Position Screening as per the Association policy

Advanced Instructor

Position: Aquatics Advanced Instructor

Location: YMCA of Windsor, Central Park Athletics

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $20/hr

Complementary Y membership 

Summary:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Aquatics, the Aquatics Advanced Instructor is responsible for the provision of a safe, friendly aquatic environment at the standard of the current program philosophies.
               
Responsibilities:  

• Create a friendly welcoming environment for participants
• Build relationships and maintain communication with parents and participants
• Supervise participants during scheduled program times
• Responsible for the health and safety of participants, co-workers, volunteers and self
• Adhere to all YMCA Child & Youth policies and procedures 
• Prepare appropriate documentation related to attendance, program plans, incident reports, test sheets and other administrative requirements meeting Supervisor timelines
• Role model YMCA Standards, YMCA Values and Commitment to Service
• Responsible for the delivery of Aquatics programs and member engagement activities
• Provide direct leadership in programs modeling/ mentoring service excellence
• Usage of pool chemicals and cleaning supplies for water and deck equipment maintenance 
• Extended periods of work time will be spent standing, sitting or a combination thereof; as well, strong focused mental attention to surroundings is required
• Needs to be able to manage varying amounts of weight to assist lifeguards/members/program participants in the pool in case of an emergency and to lift /use chemicals

Qualifications & Experience:

• Relevant aquatic certification as follows:
o Current CPR and First Aid
o NLS, LSS Instructor’s Certification
o AEC certification
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced Instructor and Examiner certifications an asset
• Must provide a current Criminal Record Check as per the Association’s policy

Position: Part time - Membership Services Representative 

Location: Windsor YMCA

Start Date: August 2019 

Compensation: $14.00/hour

Responsibilities:  

• Serve each member, guest, staff and volunteer with courteous service whether in person or via phone
• Strive to stay informed and up to date on all YMCA programs and events
• Provide solutions to member concerns and report any issues to Membership Coordinator
• Conduct and track tours for guests and potential members
• Responsible for the security of the building and members/guests by requiring members to present their cards for scanning and for visitors to sign visitors log and present photo ID
• Data entry utilizing AVOCADO Software
• Conducts personal financial assistance interviews exercising sound judgment and confidentiality
• Administrative responsibilities and support to the Membership Coordinator in ensuring the membership processes are followed to standard; front line role in processing memberships, cancellations, Membership Agreement forms, and branch communication
• Register members and guests for memberships, programs and booking wellness appointments
• Share personal Y experience with all
• Share Y Mission stories

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years customer service experience (preferred)
• Criminal Reference Check 
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Must possess initiative, enthusiasm, common sense/good judgement, strong customer service skills and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Detail-oriented, multi-tasker with strong organizational skills that can maintain a clean, uncluttered front desk workspace
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• PC and database management skills with the ability to perform repetitive data entry duties and learn new software programs and processes quickly

• Able to walk up and down stairs, as needed, when giving tours
