Senior Communications Officer - Maternity Leave

Date:  October  2017   

Position:  Senior Communications Officer (YMCA of Western Ontario Maternity leave)

Position Overview: Position reports to the Director, Marketing and Communications.  Responsibility as the writer and author of internal and external communications, planning and management of communication channels, Google ad words program, social media advertising, planning and management of events, brand culture staff initiatives and the arrangement and implementation of community outreach.

Duties Include:

• Initiation and assistance with community outreach
• Delivering of internal and external information effectively and consistently using the most relevant channels
• Editor of major digital publications
• Ability to develop in-house marketing materials and publications as required making sure YMCA brand standards are followed
• Project manager for Brand Culture Team
• Ability to lead marketing and communication of major projects in various YMCA business areas
• Initiation and assistance with community outreach

Position Requirements:

• University degree and minimum of 5 years experience in a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead projects/project management experience
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to deal with multiple demands and deadlines
• Expertise in social media i.e., Facebook, Twitter
• Comfort with website content management systems
• Customer service orientation
• Some preferred experience in Adobe Creative Suite
• Some travel from Windsor to Woodstock is required
• Must provide a current criminal record check as per the Association’s policy
