Located on the rocky shores of Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park, YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth (CQE) continues to be a leader in providing quality camping experiences for youth in a positive, supportive environment. Central to our program philosophy is the belief that living in a group in an outdoor community creates an environment that allows youth to develop the four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty. Through a wide range of activities, we encourage campers to challenge themselves and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Register for CQE
Registration for all 2015 two week and one week sessions, Little Dippers, and Voyageur trips will open November 17, 2014. To register for all leadership programs, there is a lottery placement process. The lottery opens Monday, November 3rd at 9 am and closes Friday, November 7th at 3 pm. Registration for the lottery must done by paper or over the phone, there is no online option. The lottery will happen the week of November 10th to 14th. Participants who get their first choice will be automatically signed up for the program and notified by email. Participants who did not get their first choice will be added to the waitlist for the first choice and a spot held in their second choice until the camping branch confirms with the participant over the phone that they would like to take the spot. After the lottery takes place, online registration for leadership programs will open December 1st for the remaining spots.
Our electronic mail system has changed this year to better suit our families. Families may now email their campers at camp for no cost by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must include the camper’s name in the subject line and cabin name if you know it. Feel free to email as often as you would like, emails will be printed once a day after lunch and campers receive them in the evening after dinner.
If you wish to receive handwritten replies from your camper via email, you can sign up for our camper response package. For every day you send your camper an email, they will receive a blank page to write you a handwritten letter back. These letters will be scanned and sent back to loved ones daily. Only one email address will be attached to this service (all replies sent to the same email address) and each package is for one child only. You can register for this service through our normal online registration system or by calling us at 705-756-8300.
YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth is committed to providing camp experiences for all youth, regardless of economic circumstances. Through the YMCA Strong Kids program, CQE is able to provide financial assistance to families who are unable, but not unwilling, to pay the full camp fee.
