Camp Queen Elizabeth
Located on the rocky shores of Beausoleil Island in Georgian Bay Islands National Park, YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth (CQE) continues to be a leader in providing quality camping experiences for youth in a positive, supportive environment (since 1953). Central to our program philosophy is the belief that living in a group in an outdoor community creates an environment that allows youth to develop the four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Honesty. Through a wide range of activities, we encourage campers to challenge themselves and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. Register for CQE
Registration for two week, ten night, and one week sessions, Little Dippers, and Voyageur trips starts November 14, 2016 at 9:00am. To register for all leadership programs, there is a lottery placement process. The lottery opens October 31, 2016 at 9:00am and closes November 4th at 3:00pm. Please prioritize up to three leadership program choices that you would like to be considered for in this lottery. The selection is done randomly based on a number assigned to each registration and applicants will hear confirmation by November 11th, 2016. Applicants who have selected a program which has been filled will be entered in order on the waitlist for the indicated program and then contacted to confirm registration for their subsequent choice. Applications for the lottery must be done on the 2016 registration form in person or over the phone and can only be processed with a completed registration form for the desired program. Registration is not guaranteed for any program due to limited space. After November 11th registration will be on a first come, first serve basis. Online registration will open December 1st for Leadership Programs.
YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth is committed to providing camp experiences for all youth, regardless of economic circumstances. Through the YMCA Strong Kids program, CQE is able to provide financial assistance to families who are unable, but not unwilling, to pay the full camp fee.
The level of assistance is based upon need, and differs for each family. To apply for financial assistance, fill out the Assistance Application form along with a camp registration form. If you have any questions, please contact us at 519-453-8858.
Our electronic mail system has changed this year to better suit our families. Families may now email their campers at camp for no cost by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The email must include the camper’s name in the subject line and cabin name if you know it. Feel free to email as often as you would like, emails will be printed once a day after lunch and campers receive them in the evening after dinner.
Campers may also write handwritten replies back to their loved ones and we will scan and email them home free of cost. Reply forms will be available to all campers and will be sent as the campers submit them. Please ensure that if your child will be sending replies home that they are sent with the email address you wish them to respond to.
